SFSD sends a HUGE Thank You to our School Resource Officers from the SF Police Department! SROs establish relationships with students and staff to keep schools safe!

Mark your calendars! SFSD students will be on President's Break next week, so it's a great time to take in some fun at Air Madness to support Operation Hope and Caring! Levo and other community partners are "jumping in" to support schools without PTA/PTOs. Join us!
Mrs. Powell's class showed off their counting skills on the 100th day of school. Groups counted 100 items--apples, sprinkles, fish, snowflakes, pizza toppings--to create giant masterpieces.

Mrs. Hirschman's class worked on teamwork as they played games together to celebrate the 100th day and our last classroom party day of the year!

Last week, Kindergarten celebrated the 100th day of school as well as their Super Bowl reading celebration. K02 had a tailgating party to celebrate all of the books that they read!

Every day is a GREAT day in SFSD classrooms! Thursday was extra special as Supt. Stavem and Board Member Marc Murren surprised six educators by naming them finalists for the Dr. John W. Harris Teacher of the Year Award! Please join us in congratulating these amazing educators!

101 spent time learning about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. , after which they created self-portraits using words to describe the type of people they want to be. Check out their inspiring works of art!

Today was National Fun at Work Day. JFK staff celebrated by dressing up in outfits that show what they like to do for fun. Gardening, running, watching TV, sewing, coaching--staff have a variety of ways of unwinding after a day at school!

We are always in need of extra sweatpants and leggings!

Students have been SOAR-ing this month as they learned and practiced what it means to be Safe, On-Task, Always Kind, and Respectful at school. We SOAR-ed right past our goal of 700 SOAR slips, so we will celebrate with a PJ Day on Tuesday, January 31st!

We are proud of what we are doing to help students SOAR at JFK. Take a few moments to watch this video to see the highlights of how we have introduced this system that is recognizing positive behaviors in the moment to help all students feel successful at school.
